By now you’ve probably heard the exciting news. Our family of companies has now been united under the single brand name of SKYGEN USA.

This wasn’t a decision we entered into lightly. Those individual companies – Wonderbox Technologies, Scion Dental, Vestica Healthcare, and Ocular Benefits – have worked hard to develop tailored solutions for their individual niches. One thing they have always shared, however, is that innovation and client success are their top priorities.

Now, with the dynamic and uncertain healthcare market and rapid advancement of digital technologies, we believe we can better serve our clients’ needs by consolidating companies under SKYGEN USA. While we are currently best known for Medicaid dental solutions, we are certain we can use that foundation to drive digital transformation across all of healthcare, including commercial and government-sponsored dental, vision, medical, and specialty lines of business. 

Our new structure not only allows us to deliver innovative solutions more quickly, but also creates greater efficiencies at scale. As a result, commercial and government payers will be able to focus more dollars on improving access to quality care and better engaging their members and providers.

Expanded offerings

The transition to a unified SKYGEN USA comes with an exciting expansion of technology products and services that address the most pressing needs of healthcare stakeholders, including payers, state agencies, managed care organizations (MCOs), providers, and patients/members.

In addition to our traditional Software as a Service (SaaS) and Business Process as a Service (BPaaS) solutions, we’ve added several on-demand solutions and professional services for our government and commercial payer clients. This expanded offering will help us do even more to fulfill our mission of leading the healthcare industry into the digital age.

On-demand solutions

Our two primary on-demand solutions help healthcare payers transact critical business processes with their members and providers on-demand and in real time.

The first is Provider Data Management, which helps healthcare payers strengthen provider network management and provider relationships while lowering costs, improving provider satisfaction, and speeding healthcare delivery. Our previously released Credentialing Service that enables “one and done” entry and management of provider network data is the first of many that will help bring provider data management into the digital age. Future solutions will reach across contracting, network development, and provider data verification among other areas.

Our Revenue Cycle Management solution delivers lower costs, new revenue streams, and faster revenue cycles to healthcare payers and their providers. It includes a powerful rules engine, online authorizations, and real-time explanation of benefits and payments. 

Professional services

We have also broadened our professional services to include not only tailored implementation support but also strategic consulting services. For example, our Enhanced Benefit Management (EBM) service uses the industry’s most sophisticated big data analytics to delve deeply into the factors that affect the total cost of delivering quality care, such as provider performance, benefit plan design, and reimbursement strategies.

Help with critical initiatives

That’s just the start. Our expanded portfolio also includes solutions for Value-Based Contract Administration and Strategic Advisory Services that help healthcare organizations ease the transition to value-based reimbursement and care. Additionally, we will continue to invest in solutions that assist payers and providers with critical initiatives such as care coordination, population health management, and advanced analytics. 

Phased transition

If you’re a current client, or thinking of becoming one soon, you’re probably wondering how abrupt this transition to SKYGEN USA will be. It will actually occur in phases that will take place over several months, beginning in early 2018, and will encompass all aspects of the business, including technology, operations, client service, and member-facing services. Our objective, just as it is with everything we do, is to make the process seamless to our clients so you can continue to focus on the success of your business. 

We can assure you that the one thing that won’t change, however, is our dedication to our employee core values of Respect, Ownership, Innovation, and Integrity. These are also the values that we uphold as your valued business partner.

These are exciting times, both for the industry and for SKYGEN USA. But as famed architect and urban planner Daniel Burnham said, “Make no little plans.”

Craig Kasten leads SKYGEN USA in creating next-generation technology-enabled solutions that power the business of healthcare through the digital age. Through his visionary leadership, SKYGEN USA leads the market with transformational technology and service offerings that reinvent healthcare benefits.

Mr. Kasten is an accomplished leader whose career in the managed healthcare industry spans 30 years. He is the founder and co-founder of several organizations which have evolved to become part of SKYGEN USA’s suite of world-class solutions. He also co-founded Doral Dental USA and grew the company to a market-dominant position before its sale to DentaQuest Ventures. Mr. Kasten continues to provide vision, strategic direction and creative support for functional design innovations to the Enterprise System, SKYGEN USA’s proprietary software platform.

Prior to launching his entrepreneurial career, Mr. Kasten served concurrently as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of CareNetwork, Inc., a publicly traded regional health plan later acquired by Humana. Mr. Kasten holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Marquette University and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Wisconsin.

Mr. Kasten was honored as Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young in 2003. In 2005, he was named a Distinguished Alumnus by the Marquette University School of Business Administration.
