SKYGEN
SKYGEN’s Dental Hub™ can’t leap tall buildings in a single bound, but insurers and providers using the platform are making incredible leaps forward in dental business management. Dental Hub is a virtual town square for the dental industry, a place where insurers and providers can find and work with each other using modern digital tools.
It's a SKYGEN innovation whose time has come. SKYGEN’s Dental Hub can help providers and payers harness cost savings by transforming day-to-day work with electronic relationships that streamline administration and improve communication. “The Dental Hub has all of the core functionality of a provider portal plus a whole range of additional services, but the truly innovative aspect of the platform is its power to change workflows and payer-provider interactions,” says John Schaak, SKYGEN Chief Innovation and Growth Officer. “Insurers and providers are connecting digitally on the Dental Hub to eliminate administrative work, communicate more easily, and accelerate practice management tasks, all of which can significantly lower costs.”
Revolutionizing Dental Business: Dental Hub’s Newest Features
In a recent SKYCAST that’s now available for on demand viewing, Schaak detailed some of the game-changing functions that are contributing to the Dental Hub’s notable growth to more than 47,000 users across all 50 states in the last year:
Streamlined provider credentialing. The Dental Hub reduces credentialing time from 30+ days to 30 seconds by making the entire process digital and centralizing verification and decision-making. Automation built across the process increases speed and reduces manual work. SKYGEN is NCQA-accredited, and handles all of the verification. Once a provider uploads his or her application to the Dental Hub and is vetted, all that provider must do going forward is re-attest to the application when they receive notification from the Dental Hub. SKYGEN eliminates the need for providers to navigate multiple credentialing packets with multiple payers or to restart the process again every three years. In addition, providers that maintain credentialing on the Dental Hub can be immediately added to new networks – instant results with less cost for providers and insurers.
Simplified provider directory management. As with credentialing, the Dental Hub centralizes provider directory management. SKYGEN then takes it a step further by integrating this data management in day-to-day workflows, reducing duplicative work. In other words, office staff members no longer have to manage provider directory information as a separate task – the information is kept up to date as they check eligibility or submit claims. Centralizing and integrating management of this data also ensures payers always have the most current provider information available for their directories.
Smart messaging and notifications. With Dental Hub, payers can send messages to specific payers as well as set up automatic notifications. Instead of overwhelming a provider’s inbox with general messages, this targeted, relevant communication directly to the provider’s dashboard makes it easier for practices to receive and use the specific information they need to do their work.
Self-service permissions. The Dental Hub enables providers to delegate administration by assigning permissions for different team members to access and use the Dental Hub for various tasks across all of their locations. This flexibility enables every practice to determine the workflow that’s most efficient depending on their team structure.
Real-time patient information. The Dental Hub makes it possible for providers to give patients more accurate information, in real time. For example, the Dental Hub delivers pre-determinations using the same edits the claim will go through. As a result, providers can let patients know their exact payment responsibility in person, while the patient is still in the office. No more billing surprises down the road for patients, and no more uncollectable balances for providers. In this way, insurers connecting with their providers on the Dental Hub can support providers’ revenue cycle management as well as improved patient/member experiences.
“Providers often work with 20 or more insurers, and it’s a huge investment to manage the associated administration,” says Schaak. “As a universal portal the Dental Hub reduces complexity and cost for providers, and enables insurers to demonstrate that they care about their providers’ experience in their network.”
