SKYGEN Announces New Dental Mobile App

Menomonee Falls, Wis., June 9, 2020 – SKYGEN, a leading healthcare software as a service provider, announces today a mobile application for dental insurers and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs). The app improves member experience in both commercial and Medicaid dental programs, as well as provides peace of mind for state Medicaid administrators who are seeing a steady increase in people moving to Medicaid due to the pandemic.

With recent economic changes due to COVID-19, more and more people are turning to Medicaid for health coverage. Transitioning to a new health plan can be confusing, but SKYGEN’s mobile app will help new Medicaid members better understand their benefits and stay more engaged in their oral healthcare with benefits information and oral health reminders.

The member mobile app by SKYGEN features easy to understand language and has an intuitive user interface. In addition, it is able to produce preventative care reminders and other notifications – without having to login to a separate website. Other tools that will be available in the app this year include:

• Benefits eligibility and coverage
• Authorization information and Explanation of Benefits
• Member ID cards that can be presented at a provider’s office at time of service
• Find a provider, via a mapping tool using a location or zip code
• Member feedback tools regarding service experience and provider interaction
• Login and benefit management for parents to care for their children

Over the years, healthcare has shown increasing use of digital tools for member engagement. In Medicaid dental, MCO's have a great opportunity to reach their beneficiaries via a mobile app, as 86% of the US population, including Medicaid beneficiaries, use an internet connected device to improve their health, as shown in a recent industry report.
